Summary
During 2018, the coldspray ionization device, installed in 2017, proved to be crucial for the research of the Institute. It was widely employed in the field of organometallic chemistry, in particular in elucidation of reaction mechanisms and characterization of labile complexes by accurate mass measurements (Ni, Ir, Rh, Co, Ru, Au).
We can point out two of the most interesting examples: the study of the catalytic activity of a Ruthenium complex, and the evolution of Gold labile species formed in situ at low temperature.
ESI-MS was employed in the study of reactions affording 13C labelled compounds to calculate the isotope ratio 12C/13C.
MALDI-MS was employed in a deep study of protein-organometallics interactions.
